May 2016 Wrap Up

This May I gave a speech, graduated high school (all the exams!), and went to Disney World with my BFF as our senior trip. So reading was the last thing on my mind a lot of the time. However, I also participated in the Bout of Books Read-A-Thon and started my own Alphabetical Book Goal. What saved me and let me read so many books was the car rides to and from Florida and having access to ebooks on my phone while standing in lines.

It was a busy month, to say the least. It was fun, but a part of me is very glad its over.

Tag Thursday: Totally Didn’t

This week’s tag Thursday is the Totally didn’t tag by ReadLikeWildFire. It’s a chance to express some (possibly unpopular) opinions. Remember that these are my personal opinions and I respect yours and expect the same of you, even if we differ.

The Moth and the Flame

This is a weekly meme held by Breaking the Spine where you showcase something that you are excited for that is soon to be released.

This week I chose The Moth and the Flame, a prequel novella in the Wrath and the Dawn series. I can’t wait for this short story which will be released on March 22, 2016 because I loved book one and book two is still too far away for my liking! Hopefully this will sate my longing.

It started as playful, if barbed, banter before rising to a fateful wager with a most notorious rake—the Captain of the Guard, Jalal al-Khoury—who may have finally met his match in a lovely, if haughty, handmaiden, Despina. But she, too, seems to have met her match in the handsome Jalal. What begins as a tempestuous battle of will and wit in short order becomes a passionate affair spurred on by tragedy of the worst kind.
